I'm initially on here for the fun of it but I've seen and to be honest Skim read a lot of the stickies as I've already seen them a while ago.
What information can I provide to scamwarners to prevent people falling for the scams that I receive?
I do like pissing about with the lads and wasting time but apart from publishing the scams that I get in my inbox I don't see what I'm supposed to do.
* I'm not being lazy, I have searched through a LOT of information on here and I'm only as tech minded as the next person but I'm more or less a newb.
If you want to say stupid then fair enough but like I said, apart from the amusement and time waste factor there is a lot more I can be doing. |

When you come across a new format or even a new script, you could post them on SW.
Doesn't seem like a lot but there are millions of people out there and every little helps to keep people informed.
If they were to Google some part of the script or the lad's character, it may help.
Most victims have smelled the scam but nothing has told them that it is for definite and they go against their better judgement.
If the info is there, that's a big help!
Keep wasting the lads resources too. If they are busy with you, it reduces the time spent with others.
Especially if you give them a scent of payment. |

Cheers Fowan,
I just thought that some of the scams I've been getting are becoming a lot easier to fall for. I've even questioned some of them |

Post them in surplus here. If it's a new format post them on Scamwarners (read the stickies over there for details on what to post & where to put it). Bait the living heck out of these idiots so they're wasting time with you instead of victims. And if you ever happen across real live vics (like when a lad forgets to use BCC, for example) then PM their details to a mod either here or on SW right away. |

Every new email addy or name that comes my way that I don't find by googleing I post to scamwarners. The scammers stories are all simular in nature for a particular type of scam. But the scammers names constantly change. If a potential victim googles the name or email addy, maybe they will find it and can be saved. |

There are plenty of ways to help. Aside from the baiting parts we do here, what you can do at ScamWarners is to post formats with email addresses and names but also post their fake ID's, fake checks, etc. Every bit of information that is there for the public to find has the potential to save someone from being scammed. Also, if baiters here have a particular area of expertise when it comes to scams, you can explain a bit about the scam in response to queries from potential victims at ScamWarners in the "Help, is this a scam" forum. We're always glad to have more baiters posting over there. Just remember, it's a different audience so please don't post about baiting. Something that baiters find hilarious about a scammer isn't quite so funny to a victim who's lost money.
If you have questions about what or where to post at SW's you can just PM any of the mods/admins you see active there. |
