When a lad asks you to send money via western union to a state in the U.S. how exactly do they pick it up? Are they able to pick it up somehow from another country. And also, are there many scams that originate from the United States, it seems like it would work alot better since they actually have the english skills and probably better technology for forging documents. I was also wondering what people mean when they say dolla choppin. |

I would imagine that the scammer will have an ally in one of the states, wether they are willing or they could be innocent not knowing that they are doing anything illegal.
As to dolla chopping, i am sure that someone will be along to explain it better that I can ! |

Scammers are everywhere!
Just because it's called a Nigerian 419 scam doesn't mean they all live in Nigeria ... far far from it! To think otherwise is naive. To believe they're all one colour or one race or one religion isn't very pc either. |

West African lads don't seem to have trouble collecting WU payments supposedly intended for someone in the US.
There's a lot of corruption there, and plenty of WU agents who may get a cut for not querying the transaction. |

Western Union and other financial services earn enough money to make themselves free of corruption. Especially in undeveloped countries.
At the end of the day if the government is corrupt then what do you expect from the rest of the population.
We have enough corrupt politicians in the West so we can't really talk.
So it shoudl be up to the company to stamp it out. People should boycott these services in the West until they do something about it. |
