Hector and I will be having our first year anniversary next week.

I have another lad who still pops by after nearly two years, but I'm no longer actively baiting him. He just thinks we're going to be married instead. Wink

One very prolific writer/caller/texter/scammer by the name of Dr David Ooooo has been on the hook for a solid 9 months. I call him the velcro lad. He'll probably go on forever.

Maybe I could be considered the champion of long baiting but it's a total cheat - my character is online only unpredictably, and there have been two quiet periods of more than a year each (one "death", and one when I got burned out). However the original storyline of the bait (trunkbox) has still carried on to the present day.

I published two installments (warning: includes some seriously unsophisticated baiting techniques - we didn't have mentors back then and it shows):
April 2005
November 2007

Since then it's been revealed that my original character did not die, but just that his email account has been taken over by his brother who wanted to take over the trunkbox deal. So I began additional correspondence from a new account as the original (not-dead) character.

I also (foolishly?) introduced yet another character - a black-hat hakker who contacted the scammer directly from my other character's account, "explaining" the story and offering to partner up, in exchange for smoothing the deal.

At the moment all of these are still going to some extent, although the hakker has recently gone on the run from the police, so he's not very useful. Sadly the lads don't like him enough to help him with a safe house...
