As I receive in excess of 20 scam emails each day, I cannot possibly seek to reel them all in.
On a few occasions it pleases me to settle for a piss take .
On such an occasion I sent the following to a " loan company "

Subject: WE OFFER LOAN @ 2 % APPLY NOW
To: [email protected]
Date: Thursday, 11 March, 2010, 23:10

I am only 88 years old and would like a loan of $110m over a 70
year period.
I can pay $65 per month with no trouble - guaranteed.
American banks have turned me down
You sound like you know jack shit about finance , so let's go
ahead.

I got the reply below

ATTN:APPLICANT

We are in receipt of your mail and its content is quite noted. We wish to inform you that Nationwide Loans Inc.will be willing and able to fund your loan request but we cannot loan you that kind of amount as a start.so we can only loan out 30 million for now.So if you are intrested kindly send us your name....address...phone number......occupation........monthlyincome...............

^^^ I don't think it has anything to do with you. Banks are cutting back on mortgage and business loans, credit card companies are rolling back credit lines. Things are tough all over. Even lads have to make some concessions to the recession. Wink

Idea ! If you apply for another $110m under another name, maybe you will get approbation of the funds, so that you could finance your long-term project.

I always find it amazing and hilarious when lads quibble over imaginary money. I mean, are 110 million fake dollars really any more than 30?

OTOH (just to be fair) is a lad streded in hash conditons suffering any less because we can't see him or hear his mournful cry?

Maybe it's all in one's point of view.

maybe you can have fun pretending to apply for a 2nd loan, as $30m will surely not be enough?
you'll be able to compare the offers that you get, and the professionalism of the barristers involved
(1st one a lad who will be useless, 2nd one imaginary who will be extremely efficient and courteous).
and when you get to the pay-day, you'll naturally pay the imaginary barrister first, telling the lad's barrister you'll pay him from the 2nd loan money.
the lad knows the 2nd loan money will never arrive [he'll know a scam when he sees one] and will be desperate that you should pay him first.
which could be entertaining!! Smile
