I'm new to engaging scammers. Recently I have a few items listed on Craigslist and keep getting scam emails, so i replied to one just to see if it was a bot or an actual person trying to get me to send my personal information. The conversation is as follows:

Scammer: Do you still have this item for sale ?

Me: Yes, its a very nice piece of furniture, the mattress even has springs, very comfy to sit or sleep on. I'm available to show it all weekend.

Scammer: Hello,
Good to read back from you and i will like to tell you that i am okay with the price you want to sell this item for me which is $275 but i will pay you $300 . I will like to inform you that i will be making the payment via my investment company which will be via Money Order Check. If you okay with my mode of payment kindly get back to me with your full name and address including your phone number so that i can forward to the accountant to make out the payment to you asap. Hope to read back from you soon .

Me: Sir,

You really need to hire a proof-reader if you are going to be a successful scammer. I will be willing to perform this service for you for a fee. Make your scam emails more believable to stupid Americans by presenting good grammar and spelling. I will proofread your emails for a mere $50 each. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Good day

Scammer: lol ... are you a scammer ?

Me: No, you can pay me via Paypal, no scam. I am just offering a service for people like you. Everyone needs to do something to earn a living!

Scammer: Dont you have a work for living ? Can we work together and i pay you ?

Me: How do I know you aren't an undercover FBI agent?

That is it for now, I'll update if I hear from him again. Any suggestions on how to keep this going is greatly appreciated, especially if it keeps him from messing with someone else![/i]

Welcome to 419eater.
You'd do better to post that in the main forum at the top of the forum list. I don't think that many members visit this one.
Read the stickies especially the one about safe baiting and ask fo a mentor if you want one.
It sounds as if you are using your real email address to contact people you know are scammers, We don't recommend this. They are criminals after all.
And please don't correct or mention their grammar etc.
If you found someone breaking into your house, you wouldn't show him a better way of forcing open a window, would you? Educating a scammer is no different.
