My old mobile phone has taken a life of its own

Because K7 is not the best solution for me, I found the cheapest anonymous mobile number available in my country and inserted the sim card in a mobile phone I recently stopped using.

Thanks to the lads who keep on calling I discovered that this recently discarded mobile phone has grown grumpy with old age. Some weird technical problem (looks like a short-circuit somewhere) is causing the phone to abruptly drop the conversation mid-sentence. I think the longest I managed to speak was 1 min. 16 seconds.

I've not retro-engineered what is causing this disconnection. But it looks like I've accidentally stumbled on a way to reassure the lads that I'm a real person while not spending too much time on the phone with them.

Do you have a secondary character living a placed barely receiving mobile phone signal that needs plausibility ? PM me and I'll see what I can do. I live in CET +1 time zone, same time zone as Western Africa.

I forget who the member was but he said he would buy old phones off of Ebay for £10. I thought that was going a little over board, especially when you can get a new phone for about the same price or use an old phone like you did.

I bet if you ask around you'll find a friend or two with an old phone they would be glad to give to you. I have like eight myself. I never just want to throw them away and the place where you can drop off old phones they use to give to domestic violence victims and such are always full.

I'm serious we have a blackjack my wife dumped after a year and my son goes threw phones about once a year too.

i would not go for a £10 phone myself from ebay - no way to know it works, and postage will add to the bill.

i did once think about getting one from a mate whose company was disposing of old company phones.

I even have one of the original Motorola flip-phones. Cost me $2200.00 back in the day. Shocked

I've got an old Nokia that I got a £0.99p sim for and have a K7 type number to go with it. Good enough for receiving calls should I ever need to. I too wouldn't buy a cheap old 'phone off eBay just in case it didn't work properly and then you have all the hassle of trying to get your money back.
