I am new here and I have a question! I have set my self up with a throw away email account. And I have received hundreds of scam mail.

Now my question is do you respond to all of them or just pick and choose the one that sound the best?

You'd never deal with them all. Pick one, or any workable amount that you like. Chances are someone else is baiting the others. Welcome! Bait safe.

Hi, its almost impossible to answer them all, and still it would be real mess to write them all. Just pick one, or few.

Bait safe, read the stickies and eater universtiy. And most importantly, welcome aboard.

EDIT: Meh, you guys were faster. Mad

Waste not, want not.
Set up another baiting email account and insult the ones you don't want to bait in bulk using the bcc field.

welcome to 419eater Smile

my advice is bait as many as you can handle, but don't try to bait too many.
remember that some will not reply, or they will be boring and you might want to drop them.

try baiting different scams using different characters - it will give you a feel for baiting.

remember you can bait one scammer multiple times, using different characters.

maybe when you're more confident at baiting, and when you have a stream of new scams to chose from, you can start picking the scams that you want to bait.

A good piece of advice: Pick out the ones that sound original. Not only are they more likely to be green smal bois, but it also shows that they aren't scared to put a bit of effort into it.

It's pretty rare that a scammer will go to the trouble of emailing you- they rarely spend any money on victims outside phone and cafe bills.

Eater does have drop-boxes for dodgy checks (the most common form of scammer mail) but you need to become a premium member. You could set up a PO box, although that still does create a trail to you.

The other thing to do is give them a dead address like the death star or some nonsense, then berate them for their incompetence when you don't get the package.

^^ Some of them. A lot of my safari lads have been ASEM victims just like most of the regulars, though. So if I made it sound like those are the ONLY worthwhile lads, I apologize.

For example, my 10 000 mile intercontinental safari (which I consider to be the best of the bunch) was straight out of the 419Baiter list with a simple "tell me more" ASEM.

However, statistically, a lad who is willing to at least write his own formats is much easier to mess with.
