Very sad that this happens, i keep telling people about baiting and try to explain with stories of people that have been scammed and people just say 'How could they be so stupid?' or (in refference to scam baiting) 'What's the point?'

This sums it all up really

It says near the end that his ex-girlfriend even warned him that it could be a scam. And he didn't believe her. That's seriously depressing. He could have avoided the whole thing.

Anyone who's currently baiting a "Rosie"... make an extra effort to cause him/her lad pain.

It's a shame; this guy seemed especially vulnerable. It's all the more appalling that they put him on to a romance scam and the wash-wash scam at the same time.

@Otterfan: I checked my email archives for a Rosie, and even tried Rose, but came up empty. But I will watch for her in my catcher account.

Probably not the one but still a rose. This story makes me feel awful and hope that someone somewhere will at least learn from this.

Thanks for posting this and I hope lots read the article.

The thought that this sad, lonely, defeated man reached out to his torturer moments before he died turns my stomach.

As sad as i feel for this victim, I feel more for the poor bloody train driver who cleaned him up and emergency folk who found all of his bits and pieces. Some drivers are destroyed by such events and go on to off themselves in turn. This evil trade just keeps hurting people.

I have no compassion at all for any lad and smile whenever any of them come to serious grief.
