It's a lazy Sunday morning around here, and after a brunch of biscuits with sausage gravy, and I grabbed the eldest sons iPod and plugged it in (he's 14). Here are the first three songs I heard .

I listened a bit more and found some Rush, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin (Kashmir, probably my favorite song of all time) and SRV. The kid has good taste, he's probably a product of his environment. Wink

This side of the pond, all the young'ins like this "Clubland" bullshit. It's men who sound like babies, and lots of people jumping up and down with glow-sticks and ecstasy.

I'd take your son's iPod any day over that crap.

It sounds like your son has been well influenced! Are there any other Canadian bands, besides Rush, that he's into? I saw Rush numerous times, starting with their 1st tour, in Winnipeg.

perhaps not all of them - youngest (19) daughter's into the Goth drivel. Last couple of years she's been to the Download festival. This year she might just be outnumbered by the over 40's - headline acts so far are AC/DC & Motorhead Mr. Green

My youngest went through emo/goth and came out the other side and is still travelling.
I heard Nat King Cole on his laptop the other week so mentioned there was some in the collection of cds we'd brought from my dad's. They've all gone into his room, along with the swing and jazz. He's 16!

@ iMike my daughters are off to Download, I'm giving it a miss but will be off to Reading ( here's hoping the line up is better than last year )

You brought him up proper like.

My eldest is a complete let down. He showed promise at fourteen but went downhill. Likes Alexandra Burke and Beyonce now and he's well into his twenties (he's straight BTW Shocked

).

The youngest one at fourteen was a worry with banging chip eater stuff but now at twenty one has similar tastes to your son.

Bob Seger always brings me to tears. Yet I still can't get enough...
