3.5.7 if it's of any use
When FF says "do you want to remember this password" (or whatever) and I answer 'no', how can I change my mind and get it to remember for the future? |

I don't know, but...
I stopped using FF after it forgot all my passwords in a crash ( I moved to Opera, I'd still rather eat my own spleen than use IE), so make sure you write them down somewhere. |

I would recommend to install LastPass - it stores passwords securely in the could, it's multiplatform and you can access your passwords whenever you have Internet connection. It's free for use in browsers.

Here is a great extension that will backup all your extensions, bookmarks and passwords. It has saved my ass several times.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2109

FEBE backs up your extensions, themes, bookmarks, preferences, passwords, cookies and just about everything else Firefox offers (it can even backup/restore your entire profile). You can selectively restore only the items you need. For instance, you may just want your bookmarks restored and leave everything else as it was.

Not quite what you wanted, but Password Exporter 1.2 is a good add on for FF. It allows you to put all of your pws for each site in a file for later use in case of a crash or reinstall. |

What I want is to keep my (simple) password FF set up as it is, but convenience FF to change it mind about not remembering a password.
When I recently used something that needed a password FF asked me "Do you want FF to remember the PW ?" ... the options were something like Yes/No/Not now/Never for this site.
I replied 'no' and now I want to change my mind and for FF to remember.
It's no big deal if I can't, but it would be good if I could. |

Found it... remove the site you previously excluded from the "exceptions" menu.

Password Manager settings
Firefox will remember passwords by default. You may have disabled this feature, or told Firefox to never remember passwords for a particular site.
1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
2. Select the Security panel.
3. If it isn't already check marked, check Remember passwords for sites.
4. To the right of Remember passwords for sites, click the Exceptions... button .
5. Make sure that the site you're trying to log in to isn't in the list.
* If it is, select the entry and click Remove.
6. Click CloseClose the Exceptions window.
7. Click OK to close the Options window |

^^^ Thanks PF
That looks like the baby ..... Mrs Spot is deeply involved in International Manoeuvres (on-line scrabble) on the machine I want to try this on at the moment.
I'll report back. |

How do you play Scrabble online? One must really trust that the opponent doesn't use the Google, and other such things, to find words that fit. |

I don't trust firefox to remember my passwords so I post them on forums where i can easily look them up anytime. But I don't use the Online so much anymore because hackers keep stealing my accounts somehow. |

Mrs Spot plays Facebook Scrabble and does very well without any Google help.

spot I use the same PW everyplace that way I don't have such confusing events happen to me. I use $#@%*&. I also have it posted on my computer monitor and it is tattooed on my left hand.
Nope, I don't, but I read an article recently that many people do. Sad... Note: I changed from what people actually use to something that cannot be a PW.
