After spending a few weeks trying to worm a payment out of me, then another week wondering why I didn't send an MTCN for the payment, he's just discovered that my character actually tried to send a cheque to his fictional address instead of a money transfer...

I don't think he likes me very much anymore Rolling Eyes

Those fools at WU can't do this due to new terrorism restrictions?How about an account number so the funds can be directly transferred?Or maybe Moneygram(can't be checked online).He's pissed because he could almost smell the money and it evaporated.Well done!

After all, he works for HSBC, you'd think he'd be able to provide a bank account.

I think you should act all hurt and threaten to pull out of the deal because of his insults; then blame him for the delays and failure of the deal so far; a couple of taunts about why an HSBC executive would need to use Western Union, and you should have a bank account in no time. Very Happy

I'd like to hear the lad's excuse why a bank as large as the HSBC is not able to cash the check you sent him and use that as payment. Seems this would be one of the first abilities an establishment calling itself a bank would have. Express some doubt as to their legitmacy.

Yeah, gave him a couple of slaps for that.
Also requested to talk to someone else there for the duration of the transaction, due to his "offensive and unprofessional attitude".

Just noticed I forgot to slap him for the "Mr" and "men" thing. My character is female.

Nice to know the lad has your best interests at heart, Technomancer.

This lad is begging for a hard slap up the side of his sack.

You could threaten to walk away and let him know you found another HSBC employee who has offered to do whatever this lad is swinging and add a few extras in on top. That might get him all narky. You could step back and go silent for a bit ... wait for another bite ... pretend this email did not arrive and happily ask him what he did with the money now that the cheque has been cashed. That always annoys and causes doubts to appear. Maybe send him a knocked up fake proof of the cheque being cashed?

Great stuff ... an upset lad is a thing of beauty.
