Hi to all,
After some time as a lurker, I finally decided to write a message of appreciation to your work.

I came to this forum by chance and for a while enjoyed all baiting stories, laughing to tears sometime. It was like seeing a good piece of comedy!
Yesterday I found this link:
http://www.stophcommerce.com/
and suddenly I realized that it was a LOATHSOME crime that deprived people of their hard-earned money, not only, but also of their tranquility and of their self-esteem... I really felt sorry for the poor people in that film, they could be my parents, and even if I didn't understand everything was said Embarassed (I'm Italian and American-English is quite difficult to me) it put me on the verge of tears.

I'd like to do what I can to try stopping these scumbags. Is there anything I can do? I'm a little afraid of all that legal jargon and acronyms I read in the emails!

Anyway... I think your work is extremely important and I thank you in the name of all honest people.

Every email that a scammer writes to a baiter is one email that he is not writing to a real victim. So even if the scammer only writes to a baiter for one week, that baiter may have saved a real victim during that time.

You don't have to be a brilliant baiter to prevent a scammer writing to a real victim. Nor do you have to be good at English! In fact, you can pretend that you know even less English than you truly do know!

There is no need to be afraid of anything that a scammer writes. They are inventing it all. You can just write back:

'I want to help, but I only know simple English. Please explain what I need to do in simple words.'

'I can help you, but I don't understand this sentence you wrote.'

'Please help me write a letter to your lawyer.'

You can also confuse the scammer by writing some words in Italian!

And, for more help, you can request a Mentor. There's a special thread for it:

You might have to wait a little while until you are allocated one, though, so, while you are waiting, you can also ask your questions on the forums - everyone will be happy to help.

I hope you can join in. Just make sure that you bait anonymously - no real details - and, to hide your location, use a Gmail account set up in a fake name.

Aww; thanks... Embarassed

Dive in (safely) and you will find it's not that hard.

Don't be because they're either making it up or copying and pasting from other sites. Instead of being intimidated by it, be very confused. Wink ask them to explain it in excruciating detail, like they're talking to a 4 year old. Soon, they'll be over-talking themselves and tripping up all over the place. lol I am catching on to these guys quick and they're getting easier for me to distract, for the most part.

That was an informative site, thanks for sharing the link. Every email I get from these *expletive deleted* makes me even more disgusted.

Hi, welcome to eater. If I can add my tuppence re tips/hints. I am just like you, I get disgusted by each email I receive from these people, I have though read through the forums and have realized that one of the best ways of screwing with these guys is to simply waste there time, as the earlier post said if they are emailing you or me then they are not emailing a potential victim. With this in mind I came up with this plan.

1/ Get them off script asap
2/ Bait straight
3/ Try and achieve 40 emails from them
4/ Never burn them as some come back

Un glamourous maybe but it makes me feel warm and cosy. Real life dictates that this is as much as I can do but there are some brilliant talented baiters here so being a foot soldier suits me fine.

Happy baiting.
