I got an email from the same person, and I'm now baiting him/her. I didn't read it carefully enough to see the bank account, though. Embarassed

Do reports from multiple people (instead of just one) help get them closed?

^^^ normally, yes. However I'm guessing that as this was in a lad's opening format Alan would get swamped so I imagine that reporting it once with a note to the effect that this was an opening mail will do.

I am happy to be corrected though.

Not surprisingly, there are several Haiti Relief scammers working. We have a mass bait working against one low-life who appears to have dropped her normal scams to concentrate on Haiti scams. This is just about the lowest thing I've ever seen and deserves as much grief as we can heap upon her.

What are the chances that those accounts belong to money mules and not the scammers? Seems uncommon for them to give them up so easily, they are generally aware of how fast they can lose their account and any money in it.

Would hate to be a poor victim sucked into this plot and lose all my money because the scammer got my bank account closed down.

^^The accounts should be reported either way. No good can come from giving a scammer access to your account.

People who have been around here for a while will no doubt remember the Tsunami Scam five years ago. Then we had the Noma-scam, in which a regular charity's website trying to help poor children with a dreadful disease, was pilfered by scammers. To mention just two which come to mind. This is the same type of scam, innit?

It's a good idea to bait the living daylights out of these bastards....

To the OP - I got an email last week from one of these scumbags and jumped on it. I am certain too, that my lad is from the same scam ring as yours, or share the same oga because the opening letter was very similar and the background was the same. Including the banks and the wording of the emails.

Anyway, my lad is currently enjoying a holiday in Port Harcourt for all his efforts, 500km away from Lagos Twisted Evil

. Also, he has been enjoying filling out M7CN S3cur3 questionnaires and security forms in his spare time. He truly is living it up.

The Lads sometimes try to justify their scamming by pretending they are merely righting wrongs done to them by European colonialism.

Apart from the fact that they scam Indians and Asians (and African-Americans) as readily as Europeans, the Haiti scam will take survival food out of the mouths of people whose origins lie in Dahomey (present-day Benin) who are closely linked ethnically to Nigerians.

Let's hear no more about poor misunderstood Lads -- they will happily and knowingly take food out of the mouth of dying Africans to line their own pockets.
