My sister in law's uncle is a retired priest and was running a mission in Haiti, near Port Au Prince. His cell phone was ringing, no answer, but as of today phone message says phone is out of service. 
Canadian Foreign Affairs are aware that he is missing, the Red Cross has been notified.
Asking that those who pray send a pray for Fr. Rene Giroux, and, this is a long shot, but anyone with ANY contact in Haiti (if there is such a thing at this moment) put the word out that everyone back home is looking for him.'

Sister in law got a call this morning, He is safe. The church and 2 of the missions have been destroyed, but one of the mission buildings is relatively safe. He has food, water, but there has been alot of looting. |

Great news pww that your family member is safe.
I didn't get such good news this morning - my sister in law's niece (15 months old) didn't survive (together with 80 other children) the earth quake when the orphanage she was temporarily residing at was completely destructed. |
