Things got off to a good start toady.

Wifey decided to take down the Christmas decorations. She started with the tree and the indoor decs. then she went out the back and took down a string of lights around the conservatory. Then she called me to take down the string of lights around the front of the house as she couldn't reach them. While taking these down, I accidentally nudged the front door which closed. Not a problem I thought as she has already been out the back.

Silly me. She had locked the back door when she came back in, so there we were, no coats, wearing slippers, and the house keys were in the lock on the inside. Temperature a warm -1. Crying or Very sad

Wifey trots off to daughters flat (half a mile or so away) to get spare keys. Comes back and guess what. Because the keys are still in the lock, we cant use daughters set. Luckily daughter had given wife her mobile phone so we started ringing round the family to find someone who could bring some tools round to try and break in.

Finally after 4 freezing hours we got the door open.

Hopefully 2010 can only get better.

I've heard a superstition that what you do on New Year's Day you will be doing the rest of the year. I hope you're not superstitious. Wink

And I hope you had no lasting nasty effects from your exposure.

Sorry to hear about your day.
Perhaps you've gotten the mishaps over and done with for the rest of the year?
As I've heard said around here many times... blame it on the lads!
