finding header for hotmail tutorial is gone

Just reported a lad bank account but i was frustrated as my lad is right now. I am using hotmail with this lad and i needed to see the headers and with the new hotmail everything is different. So i did a search on eater and finally found Otterfan's tutorial on how to find headers on the various email providers. There was a tutorial as a pdf file but when i clicked the link the page with that pdf file was gone. Is it possible to put the tutorial for the new hotmail in the opening post? Thank you very much.

I've just been having a wrestle in Hotmail to see if I can find the headers. Looks like there's a glitch of some kind - when you call up the header you get a load of indecipherable text made up of alphanumerics and foreign characters that look Chinese, or at least not supported by the Western keyboard.

Hope it gets sorted pretty quickly.

Next to Reply there is a wee down arrow click on that and click on show original will give you the headers in Gmail

Has anyone had any luck in getting their headers to work?
I have 30 or so emails waiting for me to post, but can't as the headers look like the mad scrawlings of a 2 year old Sad

Im getting more and more pissed off with hotmail as the days go along - just with their layout and general service to be honest.

I cant even open my emails in firefox, I have to use chrome. And I still get the headers problem. Hotmail has gone terrible.

One thing that has really annoyed me is that my view keeps going over from "Computer" to "Mobile" - Hotmail thinks my PC is a phone Sad

It's annoying that there seems to be no help on the web about this recent problem Sad

good news, there is a work round until the boys in Redmond get their act together

FOR INTERNET EXPLORER
into Tools - > Internet options -> Advanced
uncheck "Use HTTP1.1"

there is a performance hit but as I ONLY use IE for my catcher hotmail accounts it's no great worry

FOR FIREFOX
type "about:config" in the address bar, OK the warning Very Happy

go to "network.http.accept-encoding"
remove the "gzip" and just leave "deflate"

also a performance hit hence I just fixed IE, BYMMV

after long day today traveling some 400 miles (as in really, in real life!) I was happy to see someone else had found it useful !

maybe a geek siggy icon required? how about this slightly reduced?
