AFAIK, they didn't drive him.

By the way: it should be noted that "terrorists" come in all flavours. The guy isn't a wanker because he's Nigerian. He's a wanker because he tried to blow up a plane.

And he's a total wanker because he was so crap at it.

The rules changed on September 11. When Richard Reid tried to light the fuse on his bomb, he was overpowered by passengers and cabin crew; and on Northwest 253:

One wacko can really screw things up. Expect longer delays and tighter security. NWA are some really nice people and Detroit is their hub. I was scheduled to fly into Detroit last week and NWA changed my flight to another carrier as they felt that I would not be able to make a connection due to a delay on their part. I have never had a carrier do that. Last week in Philly, I watched a team of 6 suit up in helmets, face shields, vests and batons enter an airplane. I've seen this happen 4 times and its always a white male and never in the papers or internet.

I like the Mango Salsa flavored ones....make sure to add avocado!

Here's a recipe.

Mango Salsa Recipe

Ingredients

1 ripe mango, peeled, pitted, and diced (about 1 1/2 cup)
1/2 medium red onion, finely chopped
1 Jalapeño chile, minced (include ribs and seeds for a hotter taste if desired)
1 small cucumber, peeled and diced (about 1 cup)
3 Tbsp fresh cilantro leaves, chopped
3 Tbsp fresh lime juice
Salt and pepper to taste

Also good with diced red bell pepper and jicama.

Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper. If the salsa ends up being a little too hot or acidic for your taste, you can temper it by adding some diced avocado.

I dreamt about this the other night! I got an email from Southwest Airlines detailing all their heightened security measures after this incident. Then I got a second, tongue-in-cheek email from them saying they had killed off two people: someone named Mr. Charles Soludo, and one of my baiting characters - mentioned by name! I was about to send them an email thanking them for their implicit support of scambaiting, but I woke up first.

Another Nigerian was detained today on the same Amsterdam to Detroit flight. No bomb. Apparently just an a**hole. Spent an hour in the head. Now we'll have to spend billions more and have all kinds of delays.
Terrorists used to just hijack the planes so the passengers tried to stay calm and ride it out. After 9/11 passengers have decided it's better to try and do something because they know the nutters are going to crash it.
