I still don't know what to think of it. Yeah, great gift and nice of the guy to give it all to a charity, but the way it was done via dodgy email, my first reaction is; this video, if widely distributed, has potentially fucked many of our efforts over at scamwarners.  |

Typical ad agency viral bollocks.
That aside, why did they ask for "verified" bank details? Who verified the details and why? They could have asked for something else as proof that was less threatening, and as you say, wouldn't undo the work scamwarners does... |

They decided to send out a real 419, and 419s always ask for bank details.
<expletive deleted> artists.
I know. I'll park outside a school and offer the kids a trip to Disney Land if they get into my car... and then I'll take them and their whole families there for Christmas. Wouldn't that be great? It'd be even better if the kid said "I went to Disney Land last year. Give this to the Orphan's Home." Then I'll put the video on YouTube and Facebook so all the children see it. |

Would it be wrong to hope that scammers pick up on this story and start using it in their mails ? Just to prove the company that organised this that it was a mistake to begin with ? |

I think the whole things stinks. A publicity stunt in the worst possible taste since so many innocent and vulnerable people could fall for something similar.
Maybe those two young men should think more carefully about the implications of their actions. |
