Awesome. Not only does this extend the safari, but he'll now be a 1 hour and 30 minute drive away from the airport. Not that he'll have enough money to fly home anyway. Twisted Evil

^^ Actually, few people - my lad included - know that Yamoussoukro does have an airport of its own... not that it's such a great place to be...

"On November 6, 2004, Yamoussoukro Airport was attacked by French infantry after military aircraft from the airport bombed a UN peacekeeper base as well as rebel targets, 9 French peacekeepers and one U.S. civilian were killed. Two Ivory Coast Sukhoi Su-25 aircraft and several Mil Mi-24 helicopters were destroyed, which was most of the country's air forces. Mobs and rebels tried to attack the French forces after the airport raid."

I was already 99.9999% sure, the IP was for sure. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a gang working together. Man, he is so screwed. I hope he spends Christmas away from home, that would be funny.

This also explains why he was not able to lead the Togo police on a search for my kidnapped missionary with the $1,000,000 reward for safe release. Rolling Eyes

Maybe when your lad isn't met by L@urent you can relay the bad news that he has been detained by the soldiers and whatever cash he was carrying has been confiscated.

Is your lad willing to go to the soldiers an the airport and demand the release of an innocent Frenchman.

After all what have the French ever done to upset the soldiers??

This will surely get L@urent released and the money returned so your lad can go home for Christmas a very wealthy man.

It's not the be all and end all of information, I grant you, but the photo of the Yamoussoukro bus station which accompanies the entry on this delightful city says it all, I reckon.

CDI was a French colony, so you'll find that a plurality - if not a majority - of first names in the country will be French. But to address the rest of your post, I already told the lad that L@urent was Ivorian.

Apparently the Basilica was built in three years and doubled the country's national debt.
However, the pix are most impressive.
I hope the lad is able to appreciate the subtle play of the coloured light from the stained glass windows on the imported Italian marble floors.
