Well for a start, there's a real link there that can be reported. Murdoch University is a REAL institution based in Perth western Australia. I don't think they'd be terribly impressed that someone is using their services to scam people.

IP Address: Murdoch in Western Australia 6150 (and here's me thinking it was owned by Rupert Murdoch). Embarassed

Hell I'd be more than happy to ring the UNI and point this out to them. There's even a Student NAME listed "Damian Baird". whether it's a spoofed name, a real student who's had the account hacked or the actual scammer SURELY there's something that can be done...

If there's a mod reading this, thoughts???

We see this quite a bit, University email accounts are abused for sending out scams and spams. You can forward that email to the University so that they can investigate the account being used. The University has a contact page here: http://www.murdoch.edu.au/Contact-us/

There's no domain to kill here as the only two referenced at the University address and the one that is already on the other thread.

I'm marking the status here to N/A.

I wasn't suggesting that Murdoch Uni wasn't real, though I'm still not convinced Rupert Murdoch doesn't own it Rolling Eyes

you know, for a Uni they're pretty slack. I rang them about this yesterday and they still haven't gotten back to me (damn voicemail). will call again tomorrow and double check with my lecturers if there's a procedure for this...

edited for typo & the realisation that they're a UNI, of course they're slack Embarassed
