It's time we get down to some serious baiting here. Here is the scenario. When a scammer starts asking for money, what should the next step be? |

That's only because you are a brilliant female, and that fact definitely has it's advantages. Heck, now I see "Tags are not important!" That confirms it. |

I think very highly of you as well.
My post was just a little cheek full of tongue. "Алекса́ндра Коллонта́й" style - if you will.

Can't I just wait for the movie instead?
I had glanced through the list and frankly I am a bit weary about using lies to trap a liar. I also have a time limit here. I will definitely need some help, make that a lot of help, so I will be able to trap the scammer before he get away.
If you are an experienced baiter, please PM me and I will give you the details. It make me mad whenever I see someone like this scammer taking advantage of innocent people's trusts and faiths.
I think he deserve the justice treatment. With your help I hope we will bring him exactly what he deserves. |

I've seen the movie and the book was so much better.
I'm really confused Casey. We do serious baiting. We have an entire forum dedicated to breaking lads. We have serious goals that we achieve through humour. There is no difference, or anything more or less important between anything anyone does here to break lads. We all contribute, and that's the bottom line.
Also you'll need to do more than just glance. If you have limited time for baiting, then reduce your workload to a single bait. Yes you will have to lie to a lad. It doesn't make you bad. We have to lie through our teeth in order to waste their time and efforts.
Basically we destroy the confidence in their business, we frustrate them, make them paranoid, de-educate and occasionally humiliate. In order to do this we lie. We create the same illusion they attempt to build and use their own weapons against them. There is nothing wrong with it. You're human so deceit will come naturally. The difference is we're the good guys. We don't profit or expect anything in return. Think of it as creative justice.
If you have personal objections to baiting then don't do it. Or, if you have a revolutionary way to trap scammers without resorting to 'sting' tactics I'd be interested to hear. |

CaseyKo, don't think of baiting as lying. Think of it as writing fiction. |

I don't know about your advice NN. I mean, maybe CaseyKo could try the honesty approach. It would be quite refreshing. For example,
"Dear scammer, I have no interest in giving you any money, but I do plan on wasting your time and money and hopefully ridding you of any ideas of every being successful at your trade. Also, if lucky, I will also give you a wonderful tattoo at your expense as well as have you make me a wooden carving you will ship at your own expense. I will never pay you for any of these things and I will continue on until you finally refuse."
I think you should try this CaseyKo. Let me know how it works for you. J/K...just havin' a little fun. Like NN said, if you can come up with a way of baiting successfully without lying I would be all ears. |

Thanks for your input. You had given me quite a bit to think about.
Make note to self - Draft the scammer as the main star in my new drama.
I could do that since I am a part time author. No published work as yet but who knows, right?
Hmmm... An idea is slowly forming in my head. I will need to set up some false accounts, some fake IDs, a dramatic fictional scenario and some creative ways to convince the scammer to pay his own "service" fees. I do know I have his undvided interest since his language skills had actually gotten worse as we draw closer to completing the transaction. I had just received his so called fund transfer application from the bogus bank. He expects me to respond immediately. I wonder what will happen if I turn silent for, say, four days? Will he panic and try to convince me to respond by lowering or even drop the fees thinking I am an easy mark that might decide to leave?
IOW - give him the silent treatment so to speak. I will keep you posted as the drama unfolds. Stay tune, folks. The drama is almost ready to begin... |

Please don't send the scammers any fake IDs. They will only use them on real victims. No matter how ridiculous you may think they look, they will likely work on a victim in another country.
Please read the Forum Rules & FAQs |

^^ I understand what you are saying. This however lead me to some very important questions. I must somehow protect my confidential information from the scammers including my real identification, SIN, driver's license, passport; etc. How do we protect our own interests without compromising the safety and security of the public from the scammers without revealing our real IDs in order to prevent the scammers from using the information in new and future scams?
May I daresay it's a very vicous circle of events that, if we are not careful, could come back to haunt us. |

This is why it is very important to read the tutorials. Spend an hour in Eater Univ. It is time well spent. The fine people here really can save you time if you just read up first. |

When jose says we don't recommend sending fake ID's to scammers, he also mean we don't recommend sending ANY ID's to scammers. There are plenty of ways to get out of actually sending anything. These are detailed in the various sticky topics around the forum. Try the sticky topics in Scambaiting help first.
I'll try to find a link to something specifically about ID's for you as it's come up many many times. (it's probably included in the topics in scambaiting help). |

The only thing that I ever send a scammer is the false hope of fast money. All I ask for in return is for him to send me his bank account information, which I promptly pass on to Alan in hopes of getting it shut down. For me, that is serious baiting. And, I rather enjoy it. |

Why is it so difficult to receive money from you.I am having a hunch that you are delibrately making it difficult for me.I want you to remember all the problems you have put me through from your first bank transfer to the second one to our London account to this very western Union that you sent more than a week ago. You are putting me through all kind of stress just to receive money from you.
kindly please for God sake re-send it again in a proper way
you are making things so complicated for me...i can no longer condole all this stress you are making me pass through
Your are so honest i like the way you act.
you are playing games with me, but I still want to beleive in you because I have no much choices right now. |

Not at all. I have never used any of my personal details with a lad so there will be no repercussions. Keep yourself anonymous. Never provide anything to a lad that he can reuse, and tomorrow the sun will still come up.
Sure a lad can bitch and moan about being treated unfairly, but that's the mentality of a scammer for you. Full of irony.
I'm confident the only vicious circle/haunting will be the look on a scammers face when he suddenly realises he really shouldn't have taken pictures of himself naked with a goat, or emailed them.
As we've all said. Read. Read and read some more. Then if you feel like it. Bait your hook. |

Read the forum. Seriously. Read it.
Go to the Eater University and read that too.
We all had to start somewhere. That somewhere begins with reading. |

Nurse Nasty can't reveal any details. It's way to pornographic for a PG-13 site like this ....
But making a lad wait a few days for information he needs immediately is always a good ploy.
Advice - don't get complicated too soon, you will loose him. Keep the cash dangled like a tasty carrot, he'll keep straining for it. |

Thank you to you all for your excellent suggestions and advice. I admit I had made a bad mistake by using my real name and real address in the first response message to this scammer. I must now perform some damage control and get him away from my real location. My current plan of action is to convince him I am going to move down to the states and it will take me some time before I can respond again. I will continue dangling the money in front of him and see if he will bite. Then I will snare and package him for delivery to the authorities. Unfortunately the local law enforcement officials doesn't seem to be taking my fraud alert very seriously. They hadn't responded to my inquiries as yet. Is this the typical response from law enforcement officials? How should I approach them and convince them this scammer is real and he is trying to steal from me? It is one of the puzzles I must figure out if I am to give this scammer exactly what he deserves. |

however i think it's true to say that those that didn't regretted it later, or never got anywhere with their baits. |
