Hello everyone

Can anyone help me ? I want to know that this company exist or not. I have been looking for a job for 4 months and I applied a lot of job application. Finally I got one job offer from `Elite Petrochemical Limited` First I checked their web-site and sent them confirmation e-mail in order to know it is scam or not. Then they replied my e-mail and told me it is real (not fake) job offer. The travel egency which they offered want me to send them350$ for visa applications.

Whithout searching, the first question that pops into my head (apart from 'Why do they want you to send money?') is: "Why would a real travel agency use an '@live.com' e-mail address".

Edit: Apart from that "Saleem Musa" already seems to be the author of the book "Muslims and the New World Order"

I did a lot of search and just found out their web-site and job posts. If it is a real company (and can offer their employees minimum 5000$ / month) why i could not find any business news or product catalog etc of this company? Nobody says this company exists or does not exist. I sent an e-mail to their embassy in my country to confirm their existence yesterday. But they want me to send money. I do not know i can get any reply from the embassy until that day or not. Rolling Eyes

Now I can feel that they also play on peoples heartstrings. Could you tell me where i can post my e-mail that i got from them because i do not want other people to be victim of these freaks?

^ On the contrary... The company exists very much and has nothing to do with this scam. The 'company' you've been in contact with is definitely a fake.

Job Scammers and other types like to use real company or charity names, sometimes even pointing out a real website. They then say that they are a representative of the real company, which they are not. Real companies never ask for upfront fees, for travel documents, applications, or anything else. Breaking all contact with them is advised as they have your real life details. Do not respond by email or phone to them any more and they will go away.
They are low life scum, as bad as the lovelad and fake charity lads. I'm glad you decided to check with us here first before sending them any money. That is a Nigerian mobile number, too, in case you are wondering where he is really located.

Your mail has been received which you requested us to help you confirm the authenticity of your employment. I want to commend your effort because there has been lots of report whereby some group of scammers tried to scam job seekers in the claim of offering them job by our company.
I hereby want to inform you that I have been in touch with the Recruiting Department and I am pleased to inform you that your employment is genuine for you have been successfully employed by the company for the execution of our ongoing project. Your duty is to get your Nigeria work and residence permit documents ready so that we can start the processing of your Visa, Air Ticket and other required traveling documents you need.

What you have to do now is to contact the Western Link Travel as directed by our HR Manager so that they can assist you get the required traveling documents ready. For more information about the contract, contact the HR Manager (Mr. Charles Edun)

Thanks. That confirms, if confirmation were needed, that the website is fake.
Certainly whoever wrote the scam alerts wasn't responsible for this bit of bullshit..

I haven't told the whole story yet. It is more cheeky then it seems. They called me in the morning. The guy who talked to me had bad English accent so I did not understand any thing. The word which i could understand well is "congratulations" Then they turned off phone. After 3 hours i got two e-mails in my e-mail box. one of them contained "appointment letter" and "contract" which offers 5000$/monthly Confused

Then I wanted got in touch with travel agency (Western Link Travel and Tour Agency) they sent me e-mail about work permit requirements. When I saw that they require 350$ for visa, I wanted confirm this job offer form Elite Petrochemical Limited web-site. Then I got verification e-mail (mentioned above). But I still could not believe this amount of money that they offer me so, I googled more information then i found out this web site after 2 days.

In conclusion, they are really freak.

I hate it when the bad guys are so together, it shows we've got someone with a brain smart enough to adapt and hard to kill (in the electronic sense, although in its original sense would be useful too).

Well done to you for spotting it and coming to check it out, seriously. And if only they hadn't offered such excessive salaries, you could have gone for it, scary...so well done again for spotting it.

So, shout from the rooftops, tell your friends, post in forums you're a member of, get the word right out there - our best defense is for people to be vigilant and look out for one another!!! Smile

They called my home phone and told me that I don't have to pay any money. They just want me to send them my other informations for visa application. It is really irritating. Do you have any idea. If I had a friend in Nigeria I would give him money to go and check this company exist or not (I mean in the real world not on-line). Evil or Very Mad

ukrayna, It's not a good idea to continue contact with them.
There's a very good chance you will become a victim of identity theft if you provide your personal information.

Please be patient as the fake company website will take a few days or more to be dealt with. We are familiar with numerous types of scam and this is one of them.

Walk away, walk away now. If they call you, ask them politely and firmly to never contact you again, ignore their emails, put all calls from Nigeria straight to voicemail. They will go away after a week or so. Do NOT try to bait them, they know your details. Just walk away...

It is not a good idea to send them more information about me from now on. I told them "i am not interested in this job anymore politely". They did not return me call so far.
