I got an email from this human anus claiming to be dying with 3.5M in the bank. I strung him out for a few days and suddenly he sent me a link to 419eater showing my very bait! Apparently he googles email addys to see if he is being baited. I lost him, but I'd love it if one of you can send him on a safari!!

His email is: snipped until scam is posted -Ima

Hi Lagoskid. I'm sorry to hear that you had a clever lad and got found out. I'm sure members would be glad to bait him but please post the email address within the context of a scam email, per the forum rules, first.

There have been quite a few instances where lads have found their way here through Google. It's always a bummer when a good bait gets rumbled that way, but that's just the way it goes sometimes. Fortunately most lads don't waste their precious cafe time doing research.

Sometimes the luck goes that way.

That's why it's often best to post your bait in the Help & Tips where google can't go or just to wait until a bait is complete.

That happened to me one time as well, It's kind of surreal.
Anyway, I'm all over "Mrs.Kevin" with a clean address. You could rebait her from another address also if you want!

Just wondering . . . how did the lad find your baiter addy linked to this forum? Did somebody carelessly leave it exposed in one of the open forums? I ask because I Google'd two of my baiter addies and they didn't return anything relevant to this forum or to baiting.

EDIT: Perhaps he Google'd his own addy?

^^It may be a good idea to Google our addys periodically to see if they lead to the forum and change them out if neccessary. Soldier on.

As baiting addresses are freely available, bin the old one and move to the new one with no history!

And if picking a character name, pick out one that will return a zillion foggy google hits - Smith Adam for instance (deliberate transpose, 'cos I'm mean) - google that, and you'll get lost in results, there's no way for your lad to twig.

It's usually safe to play a bait out in public with the teensiest few precautions - the Soldier massbait is one of those, but our lad is too excited about his newfound career path to notice the world crashing down around him.

I remember a lad sending me a link to a bait topic about him on eater, I moved the topic to the premium section so he couldn't see it, then told him there was nothing on the link he sent me, carried on the bait and he went on safari shorty after that, even though he had read all about being baited, what a mugu Laughing

@ LagosKid: You know they say every grey cloud... hopefully this lad will now be a little more paranoid everytime he tries to scam someone and with any luck drop a real vic he becomes suspicious about.
