That is a little vague, so if you could post more information including an e-mail you have received from them, that will help us determine if it is a scam.

I have been in contact with these people for 6 months, and can find no references to them in relation to any scams. jmercy's email name shows up on quite a few dating sites, but not anywhere else. ndanny does not show up on any google search.

Do not continue to correspond with the scammer, just break contact.

Did he show you evidence of money in a bank account? If so, it is a fraudulent website and we like to shut those down.

That's not to say it isn't a scam. E-mail addresses can be setup in minutes, from anywhere with an internet connection. All it takes is a simple copy/paste to get a new address if an old one has been shutdown.

Money went into my credit card account and was removed by my bank; the bank told me the people whose account it came from did not approve the transaction. I also have pictures of danny involved in car accident in nigeria.

This is why we ask you to stop communicating with the scammer - they are using details of another innocent person, who is clueless that their account information has been robbed.

Regards the accident pictures - simply props in a ploy to gain your sympathy. Again, probably taken from an innocent soul in an accident.

Bodder888, Craig's comments are correct. I'm so sorry to tell you that this is all a scam. Any supposed other person involved is the same scammer playing different roles. All information is fake, including pictures, names, etc. and most will be stolen from online.

Please follow the link to ScamWarners that I posted earlier. There are some information topics in the forum that I linked to that will help you understand this. You can also register and get support there. If you prefer not to do that you can email one of the resident romance scam experts there, Ralph or The Enchantress. I know that Ralph has an email address in his signature line and The Enchantress may as well.

Please ask all of the questions you need to to understand this, we're glad to help.

Edited to answer your question, you posted as I was posting: You can report the crime to your local law enforcement but this is very little they will be able to do, unfortunately. All info the scammer has given you is fake so there is nothing to trace them with. The scammer is very likely in West Africa which also complicates things in terms of cooperation from law enforcement.

That tends to be an issue - law enforcement simply don't have the time, capacity or ability, especially over cross-jurisdictions, to deal with it.

Best case is to lend them to us, so we can waste their time. Also, putting word out on ScamWarners will help so that other people aren't taken in by this scam.

We find baiting is the best solution to wasting their time, effort, money and anything else we can get our hands on. Very Happy

i haven't had time to look into this yet but hope to go through this tomorrow.

I am also an Aussie and I am a Moderator at Scamwarners concentrating more of my time on romance scams and I would be happy to work with you to ensure you are not going to lose any more to these scammers and to help prevent this scammer from doing to somebody else as what he has done to you but also to help you to understand what has happened.
