I used to enjoy him in Callan, back when dinosaurs ruled the earth, and life was all in black and white, he was always being horrible to his smelly sidekick informer called Lonely or something.

My mate who specialises in carbon-dated jokes still tells one where the punchline is 'Edward Woodward', but I can't be arsed to remember or Google it.

^^^ You must be as old as me. I remember Callan too. Never much of a fan of 'The Equalizer' but 'The Wicker Man' will always be in my top 5 films.

No disrespect to the actor, but if he had married Paul Newman's widow would he have had to change his name to Edward Woodward Woodward?

Joking aside, I'll miss him. He sort of came other as a favourite uncle type character. Will be watching a video (yes, some of us still have them) double bill tonight...The Wicker Man will be one of them (Witchfinder General will be the other methinks).

RIP Edward Woodward, think I'm right in that his sons are actors, was one not a technomage in Babylon5?

And he had a beautiful singing voice, A very talented man. Michelle Dotrice of course is "Betty" from Some mothers do have 'em. A talented actor herself. RIP.
