Hi all! Taking a break here while I let one of my lads download a suspiciously large "jpg" file (I have a feeling that particular prank will never get old - shell32.dll is right around exactly the maximum attachment size for most freemail providers) to introduce myself.

Ah, thank you for the warm welcome, and in the spirit of your advice, I should tell you that I am currently living in a building with a roof and when I'm not scambaiting, I am paid to work at a job. My hobbies are doing all manner of things that I enjoy, and I do appreciate the finer things in life.

My modalities are evolving, but I have a pretty good character (I think) and look forward to seeing what I can make happen with it.

I have been hit by fraudsters for the first time 2 years ago. I did not fall for it and only lost some time but that's it. I did not bother baiting them as I was scared to do so. But after delving into the world of 419 scams, visiting quatloos.com where I was introduced to scambaiting, I stumbled upon 419 eaters. I have been hit by a nigerian scammer via craig's list for sale site and have been BSing him for 3 weeks or more now. I will be posting my bait text soon.

A good site to go to if you want to lure scammers is http://www.olx.com/. That's where I got my first peek at fake checks after I posted some computer parts for sale. The parts I was selling were $150 but I received a check for $3000. Go figure!

I picked up some helpful hints on this site already and will use them to thwart evil.

Hi I is a newbie here and just taking in baiters stories and waiting for my first 'lad'. I will spend a little time getting these bastards back for the sheer cheek they portray. A friend of a friend got taken for £20,000 this year, unfortunately he has more money than sense and wont miss it. But it pissed me off. I have had job offers from my local gumtree turning out to be nothing but a sad specimen wanting MY personal details. Anyway it's not going to take over my life but I can't wait to hook one in!

Sorry to read that your friend's friend lost a bundle.
Twenty thousand quid is a significant loss regardless of whether someone is rich or poor and may herald the beginning of something far worse.

Perhaps someone at our sister site ScamWarners may be able to help?

Hello I'm here for a little bit of amusement and to learn a bit more on the finer art of baiting. I was really into it a few years back but due to my not so subtle technique got accused of being a jokeguy pretty quickly.
I'm out for a fresh start and I'm trying to start a straight bait that I can transform into a joke one.
Incidentally one of my dad's German friends got shafted for over 250,000 dollars in the late 80's, by a Nigerian oil scam, which by the sounds of it was sanctioned by corrupt government officials. He even meet them in Nigeria on several occasions.
Looking forward to sharing some of my bait's and learning a whole lot more.
