Just bought a book from a junk fair. "Goat Husbandry" by David Mackenzie.

Now I've got something in common with the lads.

If only I could upload the pics to my file space on 419Eater Rolling Eyes

I thought I was being funny a year ago when I invented my Goat Farmer character.

Trust me to get a Lad who seems genuinely interested in goats. We've been writing since last December so we've been through the entire annual care and breeding cycle of goats now.

I knew nothing, absolutely nothing about goats.

I do now.

And I'm sick of goats.

And they are due to be mated again from the end of this month. Groan.

It is your first time to use western union so therefore none can blame you. It is always like this at the first experience. - Yes lad, and at the second, and the third... you'll see.

I don't want to guess the number - But, lad, isn't that the best fun to be had with MoneyGram reference numbers?

I knew someone who kept goats.
I tried milking one. It's harder than you'd think ( especially if you grab the billy goat by mistake- only joking)
She used to make crowdie, a sort of cottage cheese, from the milk.
Sometimes in spring an orphan lamb would be placed with the goats, who'd raise it , encouraged the milk without the goat being in kid.
The downside is that goats are very sure footed and the lambs followed and learnt how to get over fences and cross cattle grids.
Now you know how sheep get onto the road in rural Scotland
