Hi
I am brand new here. Well, actually I used to be a member a few years back. So, I am the prodical daughter. LOL
First things first: I am delighted to be here, & I thank you for your kind attention. ;=}
Now, I want to ask you all about the newest trends in the old idiotic romance scam game. ;p)
---
So it happens, I recently I spotted a a trend myself _well, at least new to me. And, you should know I have not been anywhere near scammer infested territory for a long time, until recently.
This past month, I posted a profile at okcupid _okay, try not to LMAO too much. And, of course, I knew to anticipate a few lads there. But, man, that place is lad Grand Central Station. hehehe
---
But low and behold, these lads seem to be a wee more bal ..errr "agressive" than I remember. Would you belive that they have gone so far as to start posing to be in the mark's community? What's this world coming to?
Honestly, I don't get this. Isn't it a tad inconvenient for them to be packing in a hurry for their imaginary trip? _Perhaps too fast to hope to hook their marks into trusting them a bit?
I was thinking of inviting a lad to meet me for luch at my local Petsmart tomorrow. (LOL)
---
Anyway, I got a nibble here and a nibble there at the ok place. But then one week I was swarmed by lads _no other way to describe what happened to my inbox there. I thought that maybe they were holding a "go out of business sale." LOL
But prior to deleting my profile & starting all over, which is what I eventually did, I lead my profile with a statement to them, vowing "NEVER EVER RESPOND to out of state inquires."
Now that move earned me a 24 hour break. But then, the lads came back with shiny new profiles, now claiming to be locals.
And I live in one of them deserts. The kind of place that is so sparcely populated that, if you don't live in a town, you either know about it, have cousins there or both. LOL
So, naturally I have access to insider info that can easily trip a lad pretending to live in the surrounding areas. Translation: Google would be of no help to a lad. LOL
Now what are these lads thinking _well, on second thought, they don't, do they? Still, unless there is some I duno, it seems to be an exercise in futility.
_A lad pretending to be a local, pretending to fly back to where they actually are to start with, gives me dejavu. Hummm I wonder if I still have a copy of of "Victor Victoria." hehehe

Hi Karayzee
Welcome back
You have hit the lad on the head with this;

No doubt the plan is to fly out on business before you actually get to meet them.
As to your local knowledge, obviously the things you tell them will be untrue, things like the main local business is roo farming and the river running through the town is wonderful and clear (so clear you cant see it but that bit is not important)
Great to see you having some fun at the lads expense, you didn't really expect to go onto a dating site without wanting to torment the lads who introduce themselves to you did you
I dont know when you were here last but we do have a very useful romance baiting FAQ now, you might pick up some tips, you will find a link in my signature line |

Thanks for the welcome & encouragement, Murry, but actually, you read me wrong, I am NOOO baiter. (LOL) I just sound like one because I am good at picking up the linguo. I honestly did not mean to mislead you. Sorry!
A few years back I was a vic, who caught on to the game the minute the lad made a move towards my wallet, but unfortunatelly NOT SOON ENOUGH to avoid being damaged by the experience. ;X}
So, I went to the vic support sites & although they were warm & fuzzy, all that empathy only made me feel more of a sap, pathetic, not to mention powlerless vic.
Then, I stumbled into this place & ultimatelly it was you guys's energy, irreverence & sense of humor that got me off my funk.
Btw, I did try to do some baiting w/ the help of a buddy here, but turned out, I was not ready. You see, back then, I was still personalizing it, as vics tend to do, not to mention entertaining fantasies of revenge.
Ironically, my scammer was not actually one person but, at least two. So, I guess it could not be less personal to them.
In time, I came to see lads the way you folks here see them: "They are ALL the same guy." hehehe
_Hummm, I wonder which Tom Cruise character delivered this line??? (wink)
---
Anway, I just wanted to set the record straight. And
Mur, please don't worry about my ever giving lads any useful intel. If only you read the letter in question you would see that, even you would not get it, let alone a small brain foreign to this language not to mention local culture.
---
The only thing unique about this particular lad, was that his profile was better than average for his kind. And, as it turns out, the site is to blame for that, since this lad's profile was perfected courtesy of one of the site's features.
Okcupid, which supposedly is run by Harvard boys, had the brilliant idea of offering members the opportunity to do "good samaritan editing," to help their fellow members.
I guess it never occurred to the geniuses that, more than anyone, the lads would benefit from all this good will.
I visited the profile of the good samaritan cited as contributing editor to our lad's profile & by the looks of it, she has no clue that she aided & abetted a scammer.
I guess this proves that stupidity does not discriminate against Harvard guys.
---
Now, I could not resist writing our lad just one more time. Normally, I am real disciplined enough not to do that, but I confess, I just felt like telling this one "nice try, mr. scammer."
His reply hit my inbox just as I finally blocked his ARZ. Again, in case anyone wants to know, he goes by the name " trur4u" at the okcupid site.
And, as a dutiful citizen, I did turned him into the local gesthapo (sic) _they call themselves "the flagmods" ahahaha _sounds like a bunch of ... errr, well, I better not go there. :#]
_Now, you all take it easy on the lad, you hear. After all, he appears to be a wee disoriented.
***
oh I see you think your not
for real on this dating site but only to play
games ,, what you see in my profile is what i
am looking for in a relationship ,, and what
you see in my letters about me is me ,, you
take care ,, good bye

No need to be sorry Karazey
If only all the people who use dating sites were more like you we would need to find a new hobby, that wouldn't be such a bad thing, apparently BINGO is fun.
Or so I have been told |

That would be an excellent trophy request!
Just make sure that one is standing on the 4 the 1 and the 9. |
