[rant] I have several Yahoo accounts I use because the lads use and perhaps trust them. But I consider Yahoo to be nearly the worst webmail out there.
1) Their servers, perhaps overloaded, are very slow to respond. I sometimes have to wait nearly a minute on 6.0 DSL to access a folder from another folder.
2) After I've spent ten minutes (I know, don't do more work than the lads, but I kinda enjoy it) composing a reply or filling an application, and then click on "SEND", Yahoo wants me to enter a CAPCHA code, usually one I'm not certain I can read. And sometimes they say they've detected suspicious activity on my account, and want me to enter the code. And naturally my carefully-crafted email disappears!
I HATE YAHOO!!! [\rant] |

Yup. I have Yahoo accounts for my characters too, and have had the same problems. But Yahoo has suddenly decided it likes the UK. I always used to use a US Proxy IP for Yahoo, until it totally ground to a blank white screen halt on me. Endlessly. Now that I've changed to a UK Proxy IP, it has become quite compliant. And it absolutely loves my own IP address, and whizzes around doing whatever I say. Doesn't seem to get upset about anything. (Slight problem: I don't want to use my own - static - IP address.)
AOL hates me, though.
So I've turned my negativity towards that now. It is only stubbornness ('I will use whatever I want to use!') that makes me continue to insist that I will have two AOL-using characters.
I square my shoulders and set my jaw before going to their accounts. |

It is your first time to use western union so therefore none can blame you. It is always like this at the first experience. - Yes lad, and at the second, and the third... you'll see.
I don't want to guess the number - But, lad, isn't that the best fun to be had with MoneyGram reference numbers? |

UPDATE:
Yahoo is still slow, but...
I tried accessing Yahoo webmail from Opera instead of FF, and sent the emails without problem (after I entered the demanded CAPCHA codes). Then I used the Mac Time Machine to replace my FF 3.5.5 with the older 3.5.4, and was able to send without difficulty. So Yahoo still sucks for slow and for demanding CAPCHA codes, but the inability to send at all may have been caused by the latest iteration of FF. |

I agree completely, Pilgrim. But, the captcha has just started in earnest recently. I only have 1 account. |

I have one of my RL accounts on Yahoo, and fortunately I haven't run into the captcha thingy yet (knock on wood - I really hate those things). My problem is that to open an email in Yahoo, I have to right-click on the subject link and go to "open." If I simply left-click on the link, my entire Internet Explorer closes - all the tabs and everything.
For a while I couldn't reply at all, but that seems to have cleared up. |
