What can you do when scammed by a website?

Just a quick one lads, i've done a bit of scambaiting in my time but just came into work and one of my mates has told me that his girlfriend went onto an irish dog breeding website and paid a lot of money for a puppy. No dog has arrived and it looks like she'll have lost her money

I havent got details of the site yet, but my mate is texting his girlfriend and she will provide site details. She didnt pay by card (not sure exactly how she paid i'll need to check) and is pretty certain she wont be able to get her money back, and although annoyed she accepts that, she just wants to se eif she can get the site shut down etc

i have mentioned that often these scammers will just start a new site off but i thought id check here for any ideas, what would be the best way to proceed- the lass has lost about £400 so she's understandably wanting to feel that at least she put the guy out of business

This first thing to do would be to get the URL of the site. Once it is confirmed that it truly is used for fraud, we can get to shutting it down.

You said you've baited before so I don't mean to patronize you by saying, but the chances are your friend won't be getting her money back.

Another possibility is that it's a fake advert on a genuine website.
If she didn't pay by card, it ws probably WU or Moneygram.
