This is one of the best places to get good Southern cooking recipes. People take their chicken recipes very seriously over there. As for the genetically modified chickens, you should see what a Tyson meat chicken looks like. It looks like a cube body with feathers, nothing like what a traditional farm chicken is.

Why did I open this thread? Now I'm hankerin' for some KFC - Original Recipe. With BBQ beans and Cole Slaw. Oh, yeah, and a biscuit with honey and butter.

I don't normally do fried foods for several reasons (including the fact that fried-anything for one is just too much work to prepare and to clean up after), so if I want some I have to find it and pay for it. KFC is my fried chicken of choice.

Many years since I've had KFC. Really don't like 'fast food'. I remember when McD's first opened round here - it wasn't bad. Now the burgers are about as thick as a CD, soggy buns (?) & limp lettuce. Liked the Angus burgers in Scotland though.

Rat onna stick anyone?

I have no KFC in Belgium!!!
And no Starbucks neither (the only one is in Brussels Airport, 100km away...)
Would you believe it???

However, you can find KFC in Netherlands, and it's just 20 minutes in car from home.

But I will surely try those recipes, as soon as the kitchen is built again (house still under renovation)

I went to get KFC this evening just because this thread got it in my mind. My drumstick consisted of very crispy, floury skin wrapped around a bone and nothing in between. Crying or Very sad

Some KFCs are better than others. The one in the next town over consistently sucks. But it's not just KFC, it's the same with other places as well. I think the average age of a KFC employee is 17 years. So I doubt a whole lot of TLC goes into the cooking. Why do you think we call it Kan't Freaking Cook Laughing

Edit: Who brought up McDogalds? Why not eat dirt instead? For hamburgers there is no substitute for a Tommy burger

True that. Put a fast food restaurant in a ghetto (particularly one that has "Heights" in the name) and the slum factor is only compounded. On the other hand, I don't think it's worth driving to yuppieville just for some assembly line chicken.

Maybe bacon is the way to go. Very Happy
