The thing with this is that whoever sent it, sent it from my own email. It is hotmail and I have noticed that every now and then I get other people do this. Anyway, I sent this to a new email that I opened and said this

It stinks. The PayPal verified link is just a picture. Verisign, Dhl etc don't go anywhere.
Perhaps Phone lad specialists can take a look?

Definitely a fraudulent site, and there are literally thousands more coming out of China. The problem is the host. We can't kill it if the host (hichina.com) is complicit, and this one is. See: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/hichina.com

I don't have time to ck the bank acct. but if you post this in Fake Banks & Websites here, others can take a look at the site and account and report the acc't at least.

I get those Chinese product/site emails every day, and yes, I too have gotten them from myown email address. Evil or Very Mad

I find their smarminess infuriating.

You need to regularly change your passwords to keep the parasites from using your addy.

I just emailed Verisign.

well it could in theory fool a real vic, ther's been a fair amount of work gone into it. But they don't list synthesizers in their catalogues so I'm not buying from them. The CSS is a bit all over the place though

As for the hotmail account: Usually they've tricked you into giving out your password somehow. Though a quick google came up with 588,000 hits for hacking hotmail account software, with "hotmail hacker x-edition" coming up number one...

That said there is software you can get for hacking both yahoo and hotmail accounts. To be honets I've never tried them so I've no idea if they work or not.

Psh most of those have Trojans on them. The real way is if they guess your security password which most people don't take account for and never set or use simple words for instance "mom" and of the such. Perhaps they also used a program called a cookie stealer which does exactly that steals your cookies and translate them. Depending on how high the security level is for the site can take seconds literally depending on the knowledge of encryption. I hope that clears up any questions. Also there are some exploits which hotmail has but all the ones that I can remember have been fixed.

*Disclaimer: I am only curious in the workings of networking and computers not the malicious kinda things others would like to do. Just to put to rest if anyone thinks i'm that kinda hacker. I would be consider a grey hat

I get the occasional piece of junk mail that purports to be from me, but I don't think it's from phishing. If I use my own account to send myself an email, it puts my first and last names as the "from" in the list of mails. These have my email addy (minus the @hotmail.com) as the "from."

I'd like to know how they do this. Confused

As mentioned, there must be some way of hacking into emails, since I've never been "phished" into giving out my password. Hotmail seems the most vulnerable, since most of the spam I get from myself is Hotmail.

My passwords aren't ones that could be guessed at.

/\/\/\ All the lads are doing is spoofing your email addy. Send me a PM with your baiting addy and I'll send you an email that looks like it came from your addy. When you get it, check the headers and you'll see where it came from.

When I've got more time I'll post a fake website link my friend sent me with an AWFULLY similar addy, Unfortunately it's FAR more professional looking though the Verisign links go nowhere
