I need help,, No not that sort of help, The Pills are working quite well on
that problem.

I've just foolishly acquired a Logitech Harmony785 remote control. off
E-bay. Followed all the instructions as one does, and loaded in 4 seperate programs to control TV, CD Player with Amp's , DVD Player's with Home Theatre amps, and an old VCR / DVD combo.. Worked fine with just the TV loaded.
Now the bloody thing ether switches on everything or nothing. Anyone got one, who has conquered the unconquerable. Three rotten days I've sat
crossed legged on the floor in front of the Tellie with this thing, begging it
to work..

Programing a remote control is like trying to set up the time, which isn't a blinking 12:00, on a VCR. Quantum physics don't allow it.

Thank The Divine Goat they don't produce the VCR's any more and wait for the time when they'll stop producing the so called "programmable" RC.

You could try them.

You could also try updating the firmware on it and see if that helps (if you haven't already done so). Someone had the same problem here and all they had to do was hit update remote.

I think It's all sorted now,, The big problem was there is a sticky cover over the screen with the 6 icon's for programming the 6 multi-functions,, What is confusing is next to the stick cover are 6 buttons to control the 6 functions.
BUT when you remove the cover it shows that the function you might want is not matched to the one on the cover,, Plus the screen also gives you 6 more pages of control modes.

But this thing is like no other remote I've tried, You simply connect to your computer and feed the make and model number of the thing you want it to control and that's it. So if you want to watch a DVD You load the type and model number of the TV, the DVD player, The Amp, and it sorts it all out, and programs the HTMI connection between the TV and the Player, and also allows you to program the switching of the Amp for which channel you want to use..
If something doesn't switch on correctly, you just hit help on the remote and it gives you a list of functions to try and correct the fault, Then when you have it working properly it locks the controls in place for next time..

You can even change the background colour on the screen or add a photo.

I knew this little man once, he was ever so nice, if you get my drift,, He had all this ultra expensive Hi Fi kit, Used to walk round with a little piece of Suede So he didn't get nasty grease of his fingers on his knobs.. Confused
