Hi all,

I am new to this site. I was nearly conned out of some money. I say almost cos I half believed the email but knew it sounded too good to be true so googled about it and found many websites, including this.

I nearly fell for the "cheap flat but keys are overseas" scam. Anyway, I want to get the scammers back but am not quite understanding exactly how...Can I actually reply to the scammer using my actual email from the previous emails and just string him along that way? or do I have to create a new email account, pretend to be someone else and try to scam him with an elaborate scam?

Appreciate any help. I'm angry they strung me along and giving me false hope so want to do exactly the same to them (revenge is sweet muahahaha)

Create a new one. If you use the old one they can connect your baiting activities to your RL details, not something you want when you really piss them off.

Get a new account, using fake personal details, and bait them from there, I suggest Gmail. You may also want to look into getting a mentor to help get you started. CLICK

Yes, although we bait, not scam. The crucial difference is that we don't attempt to get money out of them. As you will see from the stickies, cash baiting isn't allowed.

Know also that "safe baiting" is absolutely crucial, as Pastor Frank mentioned. Be on your guard to never give them anything that might (even inadvertently) connect your real life details with your baiter persona.

In addition to requesting a mentor, I highly suggest you take a browse through "Eater University," a read-only forum accessible from the main forum index. The various threads found therein are extremely helpful in getting a grasp on how successful baiting is done.

Revenge missions are pretty unlikely in reality, but you will be very pissed when he signs you up for 100 spam messages per minute (no jokes, actually happened to me).

A disposable e-mail address completely detached from your real life is never a bad idea.

Hey, welcome Almostconned!
I'm also new and I highly recommend reading the stickys and asking for a mentor. You may want to have a couple of baiting email accounts, there's all kinds of ways that you can use them. The vacation responder will give you an automatic 1st reply and you could send them over to another address if you wanted to with that. you can also have a couple of different baiting characters who can work together or separately.

For baiting I use gmx then run it thru thunderbird you can have multiple accounts and all show up in thev t bird mail
