The document is safe to open. What I have done is just fill in my baiter info, save the document and send it back as an attachment.

I applied to Tong Park Recruitment through the advertisement on aarp.org.
I was turned down twice by Tong Park Recruitment due to my advanced age, even though I clearly stated that I have a computer and a Hoveround power chair. |

I've been doing some reading on this FreeQuickWire. This has so much potential to be used by fraud stars. http://www.allbusiness.com/banking-finance/banking-lending-credit-services/6606127-1.html
Apparently, you get this printer and some software. The sender sends the "check" through some sort of IM gateway directly to your software, then the check is printed.
Since the original ad specified Wells Fargo bank accounts (I can't believe that wouldn't twig a vic), I could only speculate that there is a phished account that this guy is going to try to clean out?
Oh, from what I'm reading, I doubt anyone will be able to fool this guy for very long without having the actual equipment or software. I think he'll be able to tell on his end. (I may be wrong) |

Wow. This would require an investment of over $150 for a vic. I wonder how many people would actually do that out of their own pocket?
Idea: The company that sells this stuff could be tipped off (real or imaginary, I don't know if they would even care about this scam), and the company refuses to sell this to me unless I fill out some kind of form? Of course, I'm really confused and need lots of hand holding?

How about someone (but not more than 1! let it be SSA or let SSA recruit someone?) applies for a job not a printer but as tech support to help installation, setup, configuration of the system at victims homes, or by phone, or mail, anything to get in contact..
Edit (again): Could this whole thing be all about selling printers? (that would make it an advance fee scam (the printer & s/w) and not a check scam. After you buy the goods they drop you, or you need to buy more stuff) |

Let me do some digging around and find out what is going on. IP 71.238.211.12 is a Comcast Cable IP so this is someone in the US, not Nigeria. In the meantime, everyone keep playing along.
What we'll do is go ahead and pretend to have printed off the fake checks and taken them to your bank. Please take whatever information you can, and let's find out where he wants the money sent. If indeed this person is in the US, we can certainly get someone interested in finding this stuff out. Please save all emails to and from the scammer as it can be used for evidence. |
