I've had experience determining actual loan scams because they just ask you to pay the money through western union. This one however, said a "financier" will deposit the funds for the fees and I would just need to go withdraw the money and then send it through western union (the loan would then be sent within six hours). She also requested a scanned copy of the receipt. Any ideas? |

The 'financier' deposits the money into your bank account?
I am no expert but I think that is still a scam, the deposit will be made with a spoofed account or stolen credit card. When the bank figures it out, they will take the money back. Real loans from real banks do not involve Western Union. She wants a scanned copy of the WU receipt just to get the 10 digit MTCN number and question/answer since the name given to you was completely fake. |

They could be trying to use you as a mule. That is, their victims would send their money to your bank account, and then you would send it via Western Union to the lad. This makes them look more legitimate since their victim will believe they are in the United States and are using an actual bank account (no Western Onion on MoneyGrab). It also protects them from the very unlikely chance that they'll get tracked down, as well as the much more likely chance that they'll get their bank account closed.
That's just a guess, though. |

It's an overpayment scam. Your account will be "flashed" with money that will eventually be removed. it may have come from someone whose online banking password has been phished for example.
There's never a genuine reason for someone to pay you and ask for a WU payment. |
