Went home and found out that a dear friend of the family had his Father taken for $20,000 by scammers.
I'm sure you all know the song but here it is.
He was going to get 1 million dollars. They kept stringing him along for payment fees... It started at $500 and went up from there until he lost over $20K
The sad part is the Father made a list for all the children about how much of the million dollars they would get....
He was warned by the bank, but the Father was old and trusted people....
If I can delay or stop some of these A$$@#$@ from doing this to at least one person, then it is worthwhile.
We will never know how many we have truly protected.

Tragic  You might refer your friend and/or his Dad to Scamwarners. It won't help his pocketbook, but it'll help his heart. |

Welcome to the Eater! And also to our "cause".
I'm sorry to hear about your friend's father. Your friend's father may be vulnerable to a "recovery" scam......that is, where he's contacted by the same group of lads, pretending to be from the UN or the Central Bank of Nigeria (or some other entity) claiming that he can get all of the money back.......for a "fee", of course.
Please make your friend aware of the "recovery" scam. |
