My point is that you can have even more fun by teaching the scammers bogus information. Any of them that do pay attention to your letter will change their formats for the worse - - which is a good thing.

I do accept your point Bruin. But there are a numer of ways to disrupt and confuse the enemy. You choose to influence by confusing them with word play. SICK tries a different tack which is to stimulate a degree of self-questioning. The combination of both lines of attack should, we hope, prove a very potent force for good.

Pedro-you seem to feel that these people are all idiots.Nothing is further from the truth.Some of them are.But many of them are university students who have computer skills.Some of them belong to large and well organized gangs.They appear so funny to us,because of a huge cultural void that many of them find difficult to overcome.Thier language skills tend to leave a bit to be desired also,but how well do you and I speak Igbo?They are as capable of learning from their mistakes as you or I.So why point them out?Why not as other have said try to exploit their lack of knowledge to make worse mistakes?

Of course it's not a real investigation centre. SICK does not expect a response from our advisory letters - although we do get some. SICK does not seek an apology. SICK does not educate, it merely points out some of the crass errors that the scammer has made. The fact that he or she is replicating a well tried "how to get rich" story confirms his/her limited intelligence. SICK aims to undermine the scammers confidence and as they also suffer from an incapacity to originate a potent scam. It is possible that their frustration will negate any further scam activity.

If that is the case you are just wasting your own time, but for everyone that may change their scripts there could be hundreds of more victims

[b]I refute your suggestion. It is no more a waste of time than the traditional form of scam baiting. There is always more than one way to achieve an objective. "Change their scripts" to what? The fact that they are using tired and well worn "get rich" stories confirms their incapacity to develop something of potent originality to enable them to change the script.

So, according to you, if we let criminals know that they are stupid, they will stop commiting crime. How interesting.

All the lads are interested in is money and, believe it or not, it does flow to them. In giving them tips to improve their formats, all you're doing is increasing said amount of money.

Personally I think your SICK idea is bullshit and pointless. Serving no other purpose than to educate a scammer in making his scam more realistic.

I am bored with this rubbish, as we all are. Plus this is just a wind-up now. No-one could actually be this naive in thinking this is a good idea.
