I recieved this letter today.

I have never sent any mail to this lad. If he is a badger... i will LOVE to bait him, because they make me "work" in vain... How can i see the difference between each other?

I don't think it is - badgers are rare, if not extinct.

The chances of this being a badger are very small - sorry to spoil the fun. Razz

Push for a bank account and see what happens.

Also, if you're happy to, maybe post some of the replies up here for perspectives on the matter. If he / she is on script , nine times out of ten the arse will drop out of the quality of the literature.

Res ipsa loquitur we discuss badgers, in some sense they must exist.

Edit: Either that, or you've collared another baiter fishing for your account details?? Not beyond the realms of possibility so chucking it out there.

That script doesn't ring any differently to me than a Bank AFF, or NOK AFF. They don'[t start out saying there will be fees to pay, that comes later.

Unless the lad is a begger, he will claim to have all kinds of money to send to you (a victim). It is those darned fees that are required to release the funds to you that make it an AFF.*

Why bother? They serve no purpose and you do nothing to help stem the flow of actual scammers from hurting real people.

If it is a badger, and one that did claim to tell you where you went wrong, then it's safe to assume this person is of limited personality and intelligence. He baits baiter's, so by default already a useless moron. Telling you what you did wrong... what a pompous prat. Silly people like that make me laugh.

He can't do any actual damage to what we do and you only end up wasting your valuable baiting time. If you step in a badger, the best with to do is to wipe it from your boot with a stick and some old newspaper and keep walking.

It's a single-celled sub-human that attempts to bait baiters by pretending to me a lad.

Rare because we find them and have them killed.

I'm an eater assassin. I can still hit a target the size of a golf ball at 600m... So all you golf balls (and badgers) look out!

@ NN I don't think it was a badger, just a lad showing off his English skills. Ana's first language isn't English but Spanish although she's doing fine. Could be the lad caught on to her and let her know that. Ana was just starting baiting then.

Try reading that email as a baiter's mass-mail.

You're obviously on some list of lads. It happens.

I never thought of this before, but Thud could be right that it's just a regular baiter and your address was picked up as a lad's.

I'm more inclined to believe, though, that it's just a regular lad who's, as someone here put it, "showing off his English skills". The fee will come, it always does. The money will get held up at the airport and you'll have to pay a clearance, Nigerian law will require you to buy insurance, etc.

I received this same mail in my catcher yesterday. It's a googlemail address so no IP I'm afraid. I'm sending out a reply so hopefully we'll see what the gig is shortly.

Edit: I just put a filter on this email address. Lo and behold another scam mail from the same address revealed itself. It was only days ago. This mail from him looks like a check scam. Strange.

Uh, huh, just as we expected, the old "My lawyer will be in touch" routine. Notice how the spelling deteriorated? The lad bought only the opening script and thinks he is smart enough to carry it forward.

Check the IPs if you can. You may have passed Phase 1 and been passed on to a higher level lad.

It ain't no badger...
Why would a baiter go about it this way?

Looks 100% lad to me.
