I decided to answer one of the gems coming into my in-box, using an entirely different name and e-mail account. I'm dealing with a "Singapore Banker" who is in charge of a few million in loose funds which he wants a convenient "heir" to claim. I'm Buck A. Roob0b, a semi-literate foreman on the Buffalo Chip ranch here in Texas. So far I've exchanged 3 e-mails with the lad the last being a bank form that poor old Buck had problems filling out. Problem is, he wants a phone number, and I'm damn well not going to give him mine, even though we have the "castle doctrine" here in Texas and his chances of surviving a personal visit would be nil.

Any suggestions on how to jerk this guy's chain? Anyone want to volunteer as a mentor? Thanks for the fun site!

There are several people on this board who will field phone calls if you ask them to. Also, you might search K7 or Skype and see about setting yourself up an account with one or both of them.

Ask him about the tax implications of this transaction. You may need a letter from a lawyer to clarify the tax situation. Also, are the funds in dollars? Texas now uses Euros, so all documents need to be changed into Euros. Argue about the exchange rates.

There are various security clearance forms that people on this board have (from Homeland Defense, or Interpol or whomever). See if you can get the mugu to fill out one. (or more!)

How about "Texas has/will secede from the US and now only accepts Mexican pesos?" I don't want to scare him off too quick, since "Buck" did let slip that his "Pa" left him a few bucks that Buck has stashed for his (and his horse Maggie's) retirement.

I have a Skype account but it's in my own name. Maybe I could set up one in the name of the owner Mr. B.S. Hite. The only phone's in the ranch house and I live in the bunk house. I did offer to buy a cell phone next time I'm in town if i really need to. I'll see how it plays out.

I like that idea! Do set up a second skype account, and do insist upon Mexican pesos for all transactions.

This lad is hungry... I just received a great (but forged) bank statement showing my poor deceased cousin's account of $19,761,050.12 along with the contact info for the "Barrister" so that I can get the 3 other government docs I need to get the money transferred. I'm going to let these folks stew for 24 hours (big thunderstorm, the cattle got out, and I've been up all night herding them back and now have to fix fencing). I don't want to spook the coyote, so to speak. Any bright ideas from the experts here would be appreciated.
