Seems like we may start seeing scammers drop Yahoo:

What about all those people whose computers have been hijacked as part of a botnet, sending spam on someone elses behalf? Are they going to start receiving bills for emails they didnt even realise they had sent?

Seems to me that the only people that will pay are the legitimate email senders, those skirting the law are always going to find a way around this sort of thing.

Yup. It's a ridiculous idea, and will do absolutely nothing to stop spamming.

I can't configure my account to forward mails anymore. It wants me to sign for Mail Plus, with is $20 a year...

If it happens it'll be the incentive I need to finally dump yahell on it's sorry ass. In the 90's they were great, but now... Forget it. I won't pay just to "avoid" spam.

Well normal mail is still free and available, but "advanced" features, like POP3 and mail forwarding is only available through the paying version of Y@hoo Mail.

I didn't look for any info, comment or blog on this. Maybe it's just a temporary thingy. But for the moment I'm stuck Crying or Very sad

I'd love to see how they'd implement it, would you have to set up an account to start with?
How would they deal with the 100,000's of fake details that have been used to set up accounts in the past? Might be a good way of rounding up stolen credit card details though. I would expect Lads would try to use them to pay for e-mails.
