I need to enlarge some pictures, i have been given, to a more manageable size.

What would be the best programme to do this?

Well, I was going to ask are they digital, but of course by the time they get to your pc they are - and then you have the problem of pixellation, which is not the infestation of tiny woodland creatures, but the rendering of graphics, as tiny squares, into bigger pictures and therefore bigger squares. Eventually you will have something like this or some software that has filled the gaps by guesswork (usually by taking neighbouring pixels and compromising the colours).

So.. define 'manageable', cos yer going to have to compromise too..

Fo'andles if the picture is very small to start with there is not much you can do.

Try 'open with Microsoft photo editor' and see how far you can go.

Krabbs you need piercings for that, or a large brick tied to the member.

The obvious answer is to use Photoshop if you want the best, but as for how to enlarge them and retain as much image quality as possible that's something else entirely.

Fo'andles the simple answer is with a photo editor. Windows comes with MS paint which will work okay. There are free photo editors online that don't even require you to download and install anything.

Google and take your pick Very Happy

If you want me to recommend something then I'd go with photobucket so you can host and edit the images at the same time for free.

I find Photobucket erratic and use Irfanview but of course no codes come with that.

Any half-decent photo editor will enlarge the image, but remember, you cannot successfully create data that isn't there. The less data available (usually meaning the smaller the image) the worse looking the enlarged image will be. If you have the option in the image sizing section of your editing program, use bicubic smoother for best results.

just a thought, why don't u use just paint an create a very big empty picture (like 2400 by 1600 pix) give it a light color.
the picture which you want to show you can just past it in the new picture
save it as bmp my picture of 25kb turned out to be a 10,9 mb file
your picture stay the same, but it has a big background Wink
