Oh what the heck. I requested to join but I used my real Facebook. Then I decided to actually read this thread, and chose to use a fake one. But I already requested to join, and I don't know how to see my groups to cancel it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is Screw you Facebook! I feel better. Cool

I would assume (hopefully without making an ass out of u or me) that the wise and benevolent Shiver, all grovel, would screen each add request for fear of letting a lad loose? Group owners should be able to kick already joined persons from the group.

Can the great Admin folks (you do an awesome job!) confirm this to any degree? Or is the great and powerful Shiver just accepting joins willy nilly?

Lets say that you use your RL details to join the facebook group. As long as you dont have your baiting name associated with it, nobody is going to know who you are anyway. (Not even the admins) We do get members outside of this forum joining the group as well so nobody will really have any idea who is who.

So one could, when sending the request, place a personal message in the request identifying themselves to the "screener" by their forum name. It would only be visible to the person approving the request. Not that we need a super secret club or anything. I am just trying to clarify for those who are none to sure about the facebook thing as I was months ago unitl I learned I control who sees my account information.

There is no need to identify yourself to the screener. If the screener thinks you may be a lad they will contact you. For the most part we will clear just about anyone who would like to join our group. Just like we allow just about anyone to read these forums. Lads read this forum on a daily basis (so do many other undesirables) they find us fascinating Laughing

While signing up for the new Facebook group, I realized a few things about one's facebook account. This will be of relief to those who have signed up using their RL accounts as opposed to falsified ones! Unless a person allows another to be a "friend" your profile's secrets are safe. They cannot see your RL details unless you confirm them as friends and you have adjusted the permissions to allow friends to view your profile info. You can still even block friends from looking at your details if you wish. This wouls lead me to beilieve, unless you let them in, no one can see your RL details just because you are a group member. So, Black sheep you are OK if you use your RL facebook.

So to all who joined the group, If I recognize you from the group I may send a friend request but I will specify my forum name to assuage any doubts, but in the end it is up to you.

go to your "profile", then check "info" - there you will see a list of the groups you belong to. click on the eater link then select "remove me from this group"
