Yeah I'll say. I got scammed out of 5 bucks by a street hustler in NYC last month, and I'm still bitter.

This American Life did a show about 11 years ago about a con man on the streets of Philadelphia who conned hundreds of people out of really small amounts of money (always less than $100, never more than the victim could afford), and when he finally got arrested, dozens of victims came to the court room screaming for blood. Over small amounts of money.

Fraud certainly does have an interesting psychological side to it.

Number One Rule is to step away from the scammer.

There is plenty of time to read here, pick up some scammers, practice on them ... there are a TON of them in the surplus section of this site ...

It is advisable to cease ALL contact with this specific one

Bait safe, read the stickies, laugh & learn...
That means get an e-mail addy with no traceable IP - like gmail, hotmail, etc.
Don't give out any personal details - even signing up for your e-mail addy
Don't get involved with someone who might have your personal details...

Well what you should do is the following.

Step 1
right click on the email you wish to get information about.
step 2.
Press the one thats called "show email source"(aint sure what its called, different lang here)
step 3
Paste it in here in a post.

btw a piece of advice, dont have any future communication with him, especially on your own email and with a service like hotmail.

If you want to have anything to do with him, use Gmail, they remove your IP while sending the E-mail, Hotmail doest and can be traced back.

Thanks for the advise. I dont use the hotmail addy anymore.

I did have confirmation that he is a scammer.....was hoping you guys could have a bit of fun....you know what I mean.

Well to start off with i woundnt recommend that you toke that one on yourself, mostly because you had experience in a bad way with this one.

If i where you, i would make a new Thread requesting a scammer "takedown" with all the information you now got.

E-mail header and how you got a hold of him or he of you.
all the personal information you have on him or her as you got
and pictures ofcause.

The more information the better.
