Would it be a good idea to compile information obtained from internet scammers into some sort of database (a "LadWiki" or "Ladapedia")? Each scammer identified would have a page, with information such as IP address, favorite type of scam, real name and picture if possible, phone number, location, "baitability", emails, aliases etc. This clearly would take some time to compile a decent amount of them, but at some point a baiter could search an IP address and see if the lad is in the database and useful info on him, and be able to add new info to the page if obtained in the bait. There should probably be some way to make it so only approved baiters can edit the database.

Any thoughts? If there already is something like this I would like to know as well.

It's a nice idea in theory, but there are just too many lads. Totally impractical, I'm afraid.

These people are trying to do this, but I'm afraid Mr. T is right. They couldn't possibly keep up, given the sheer number of lads x multiple identities alone.

Let me guess, you are an 1.) accountant; 2.) programmer; 3.) engineer; 4.) student.

I thini it would be a grand idea, but a reall bugger to keep up. Since scammers often use the same scripts, it might be a tad difficult to know if it was the "original" script, or just a cheap copy.

Keep thinking of ideas, as that of the mark of a baiter. coming up with ideas! Very Happy

Pre-paid SIM cards are sold like packs of chips in Africa. They also aren't tied to any personal information.

A lad gets burned enough, he'll become less trusting. Therefore, this would be totally inconsistent.

The lads have hundreds over their careers. Literally hundreds. They go through them like [insert cliched analagoy here].

I'll echo what the others have said. Good idea in theory, but almost as impractical and improbable as peace on Earth.
