So I just got scammed, I sent my ipod off to nigeria. I kind of had the feeling i was being scammed the whole time. I felt really stupid and extremely embarrassed I fell for something like this. I know my ipod is gone and theres nothing I can do about it, but I'd like to get some revenge. What happened was I put the ipod up on craigslist and he emailed me and seemed pretty normal and sent me paypal verification emails, which was the point I should have noticed things were a bit odd, eventually i fell for the whole thing and sent my ipod to nigeria. Now I want to get back at them. I'm brand new to the whole baiting thing but I want to get into it. I've been reading the FAQs and the threads, but i'm kind of confused on where to get started. If I should try fresh, or if there is anything I can do with the current person who got my ipod. Any links or any directions of what to do next would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dugon143 and welcome here. I'm sorry to hear that you fell for the scam. There's no need to feel embarrassed. There are many victims and some of the fake paypal emails can look pretty convincing.

Before you get started scambaiting, please visit our sister site for victims www.ScamWarners.com and post the scammer's information so it will show up in searches.

To get started with baiting, read the sticky topics in the Scambaiting help forum. There is also a topic in that forum where you can sign up for a baiting mentor.

The first thing to do is to get an anonymous email account so you can bait safely.

It'sa long shot, but you could email him, and say you sent him the wrong Ipod. The one you meant to sell has more memory, for example
If he sends it back, you'll replace it.
I doubt it will work, but you've nothing to lose.
Or give me his email address, and I'll try and persuade him to microwave it.
