Fort Jackson....it's been 35 years since I went to basic there, and I still hate the place. Smile

A lot has changed...coed basic..... Shocked

and I think they make some attempt to be 'PC'.

Still, keep your nose clean during basic, and AIT. All enlistment contracts are probably still void if any mishap occurs......

You could find your 'career track' a little bit different. Smile

Keep your mouth shut, bust your ass, and a good Drill Sergeant will appreciate it.

Ah yes, the military.....I wished I had never got out. Pleasant memories along with the bad ones.

Congrats Cap. Remember well, the first six weeks is the maker or the breaker. They will try everything possible to destroy you so that you can be re-born in "Their" image. "Walk" and "walking" will not be in your vocabulary. You will run every where.
Please do not make the mistake that I did. I swear I heard the DI scream "dismissed", so I fell out of formation with about 4 others. I knew I had screwed up when I glanced over my shoulder and saw the platoon still in formation.
After 4 hours of "remedial" PT(physical training) I never made that mistake again.
You will have have a blast!
