Could anyone tell me is there a new scam out there involving men/women from Ghana,i was messing in skypeme mode and got the usual "hello i be yor freend" messages so for a laugh i answered one,of course she had no cam but wanted to see me,so i put my cam on.........facing a picture on the wall and she stayed on for 20 mins till i knocked it off,then she wanted to see more of me and sent pics of herself naked,i scanned it all with symantec and it seems safe ,i just dont know what they are getting outta this ..............help lol Shocked

i don't use skype, but anyway, Ghana is a common scammer location (along with other West African countries), so chances are it isn't a new scam, but only just round to you.

Chances are it'll be a romance scam, if they want to see you, they'l "love" you after 3-4 (maybe even the first) conversation, and after a while they'kll want to come and live with you, and thus require money to travel/get a visa/build a boat to sail there/buy a rampant elephant as a present for your family

either that, or its just some crazy person trying to get attention, but chances are it isn't.

again, either that or i'm completely wrong again Laughing

Also, if its your normal skype account (i.e. has your RL details etc), drop them now, minimal chance they'll do anything, but as is said many times here about safe baiting, why take that risk?

Thanks a million,i was kinda sure it was a nutjob but its wierd the way she/he kept on insisting i turn on my cam and then sending nude pics of probably some innocent,im thinking its an attempt to log ip addys or maybe a bad blackmail attempt,anyway i think im gonna play it out as its a bogus skye account and i use hotspot shield,if i get any more info ill let you know,

Ah, don't be so dull. Polygamy can be good, clean fun. Although you may be less impressed when you find out that your new bride is a man... and probably not a very hygienic one, at that.
