Only if they don't hide behind solid objects, or move about so as to prevent anyone getting a 'bead' on them. It is also frowned on them using carpet slippers to traverse minefields.

It should be borne in mind that we have a host of experts here with useful tips to aid any Lad trapped in the middle of a war zone such as, if the Lad doesn't speak French and is in Cote d'Ivoire then he should refer to armed soldiers or police as Onkooler du shevrur (phonetic version).

@Badgerbait - Well, it's like this. If you don't feel comfortable with the possibilty that your lad might "disappear" or write back to you after the experience of a safari to a hostile place, then don't send him there.
Send him to a nice resort in Somalia.
