And what makes it unbelievable on the UK advert a Geordie/Macham saying he sold his gold (yeah gold...) to go see a european away game. So he isn't going to see his local teams then Wink

Who would MAIL their gold jewelry to an outfit they don't know in the hopes of getting a fair price for it? Confused

I know I'm spoiled by living in a major metropolitan area, but many jewelry stores now buy gold jewelry and watches. I suppose they've been doing it for years but only now are advertising, as what was once something done out of desperation is now quite acceptable.

Even a pawn shop, while not giving top dollar, would be preferable to shipping stuff off to who-knows-where.

Vultures and vampires the lot of them, I bet the price is very 'take it or leave it', and preys on those about to get their homes repossesed or have their knees broken by Mr Gomer's henchmen.

I cant believe that heffamoose had no idea her 'drawer full of jewellery' was worth £280 as scrap, or that jewellery can be 'unwanted' like an old settee.

It seems to have been produced by the same quality people as Cillit Bang adverts, and the 'Have you had an accident?' ads from Blame Direct.

The commercial shows these “trained professionals” in uniform answering the phone. Some organization like the Better Business Bureau checked into the company and found they were just some minimum wage idiots who did nothing but call the local police/ambulance/fire department, when necessary.

I’m pretty sure that it’s the same in all countries, that a huge chunk of the emergency calls are not emergencies. A bunch of these non-emergency calls are from elderly people who are “confused” as to what a real emergency is.

The elderly were the target market for the product and the company soon found out that something like 98% of the calls they were not emergencies. So, the company was faced with all sorts of problems like is this person really in trouble or are they just lonely. They went out of business in like 2 years….
